Why IPC?

Louanne Fries, Bella and Lola

Louanne and Girls
'The girls,' as they are known by IPC's incredible staff, are in great health, and have never been healthier and happier.

"Anyone who knows Lola is aware of her addiction to her Kong...a tiny rubber cone-shaped toy.  She keeps it close at all times, and of course carries it with her to the part.  Lola's commitment to her Kong is unfailing.  Kind of like my commitment to her; to always protect and care for her.

In the summer of 2008, I saw a dramatic change in the way Lola played with her Kong in the park.  Her chasing was a little less enthusiastic, and slowly became accompanied by a limp.  A trip to the doctor to confirm what I thought was a simple muscle pull suddenly became something far more serious.  But no one could tell me exactly what it was.  The limping became more and more severe to the point she could no longer go for walks.  Playing in the park with her Kong was a distant memory.

After visits to five specialists and no answers, a friend told me about a facility that might offer some answers.  Little did I know how important Integrative Pet Care would be in rescuing Lola from her tremendous suffering.  Their expertise helped to first confirm the suspected diagnosis: a rare condition found in some Cavalier King Charles Spaniels called syringomyelia which causes terrible spinal pain.  Once they were able to identify the source of her discomfort, Integrative got to work.

IPC approached Lola with a holistic plan that included taking her off of dangerous pain killers and putting her on a regimen of therapeutic exercises, laser treatments, walks on an underwater treadmill, massages, and tons and tons of love.  After just one visit, I saw life come back to Lola's eyes.  After just a few weeks, she was going on walks again with me and her sister, Bella, a Bichon Frise.  After just a few short months, Lola was back in the park, chasing her Kong with the same enthusiasm and fervor that she once did.  Today, Lola continues her treatment once a week.  And all this time, Bella has been right by her side.  Bella became a member of IPC's Fit Club, where she gets vigorous walks on the underwater treadmill, followed by belly rubs, hugs and kisses!  "The girls," as they are known by IPC's incredible staff, are in great health, and have never been healthier and happier.

My gratitude to the amazing IPC staff for their commitment to Lola's wellbeing is deep and beyond words.  IPC gave Lola her life back.  The experience has changed her life, and mine."
